‘’Colleagues, I call this meeting to order,’’ the CEO and President of the Company announced. ‘’You are welcome to this extraordinary Top Management Meeting to discuss the ‘Eternal Redeemer.’’ There followed a prolonged deep silence.
The mood of the meeting was so tense that it reflected on the Chairman’s facial mien.
Suddenly, silence began to ruffle their spirits and those of senior ex-officios in attendance. Deliberately, the second Vice President (operations), saved the situation by speaking
‘’Mr. Chairman, all heavenly and earthly resources, already deployed to redeem this stiff-necked man who messed up our Eden project, have been exhausted! The rate of return on investment has remained dismal. It is high time top management takes drastic disciplinary measures against this ‘’man’’ instead of handling him with soft gloves and considering frittering more investments in a project that is neither economically or spiritually viable nor socially desirable.’’ Another protracted silence ensued. Ge. 3:1-24.
‘’Thank you, colleague, for that proposal, the Chairman calmly moderated, trying to manage the excruciating pain inflicted upon him by the unexpected radical words coming from his number three, more or less, predicting the likely direction the meeting was taking. His heart grieved.
‘’I hope this does not show on my face and my first VP won’t share the same views!” he moaned quietly.
‘’Colleagues, you know that we heavily invested all our best resources in this project, the only one of its kind in the universe.’’ Ge. 1:26.
All this time, the First Vice President, also doubling as the only Son of the CEO, saved the situation by speaking out, ‘’Colleagues, I hear you – succinctly. Our Eden Project is still our best investment of its kind. It’s part of us. Our annual rate of return – Agape, is still the same as when we first launched it. Here, I am. I am ready. Send me. I will go. I rest my case.’’
There was a tumultuous jubilation. Singing and dancing.
‘’Colleagues, thank you for this providential decision,’’ the happy Chairman said, readying himself to close the meeting after agreeing on the way forward – implementation.
‘’Archangel Michael, and your team, get ready to implement Management’s decision!’’ he directed.
“My Lord, the team is ready. All the chariots and accompanying angels are ready to accompany Lord Jesus onto His mission,’’ Michael responded with alacrity.
‘’My LORD!’’, the Holy Spirit, interjected. ‘’ Michael, hold on a bit! I will handle the implementation, myself, in consultation with Jesus and, of course, your team.’’
‘’Thank you. The meeting is adjourned sine die,’’ the Chairman concluded.
Immediately, the divine plan to redeem man, as had been prophesied by Prophets, started unfolding, replacing Angel Michael’s physical expedition to Jerusalem with another angel to meet Mary, Joseph’s fiancée to announce divine incarnation of baby Jesus who was born nine months later, not in a palace or statehouse, but in a manger in Bethlehem. Is. 9:6; Mt. 1:18-25.
Eight days later, Jesus was circumcised to comply with Jewish tradition. He was raised in a poor carpenter’s home for over thirty years.
At Cana of Galilee, on mother’s request, Jesus humbly, not dramatically, performed what would be his first miracle. Jn. 2:1-11.
When Jesus went to John the Baptist for baptism, to comply with Jewish customs, he did not dramatise it save for the dove and his Father’s voice that identified him. Mt.3:16-17.
When Satan confronted him, in the wilderness where he was waiting upon his Father, Jesus did not apply divine power in him to punch blows to the devil, as a son of God would to a vicious saboteur. Instead, Jesus preached some decency to Satan quoting scriptures. If Jesus chose to, he could have easily turned stones [or anything else including ‘’nothingness’’], into food, jumped any depth, or captured the offered kingdom without worshiping the damn imp of a devil! Lk. 4:1-13.
Jesus preached the gospel, helped by the humblest disciples he chose, walked the streets of Jerusalem in humble attire, sometimes, without food or drink. He healed the sick, delivered the demon possessed and raised the dead like Lazarus. Jn. 11:38-57.
He was rejected by fellow Jews, persecuted, denied and betrayed even by his own brothers and disciples, tried, crucified, like a thief, between two of them, died and was buried in a borrowed tomb. But he resurrected- humbly, not dramatically. His death and resurrection made Him, once for all, the perfect eternal redeemer for whoever believes in Him. Jn. 3:16, 3:3; 1Jn. 5:5.
