Topic: GENTLE (10/21/21)
Gentle rain on a hot day is a blessing to my yard and me, while a torrential flood is destructive with its power to destroy anything in its path.

A gentle reproof makes me want to do better; a mean rebuke discourages me and makes me feel like giving up.

A gentle dog is a delight, but a harsh and mean dog could kill me.

A gentle stream feels good as it caresses my feet; white water could sweep me away or even disable me.

A gentle campfire warms my soul and body, but an uncontrolled blaze means only loss and destruction.

One might conclude that a gentle anything is good and a hard anything is terrible. Honestly, these few contrasts bear witness to that thought.

But, can gentle, mild, and soft be harmful, and can hard, harsh and rigid be good? So far, I don’t think so, but I am always up for a challenge!

Look at the gentle Holy Spirit: He never forces us to do right. He gently nudges us to persuade us to conform to righteousness. He is loving and kind, never harsh or mean.

When Jesus walked the earth, He was always gentle with those He loved and in whom He saw potential. He was only harsh with religious people who would never receive Him and kept others from Him with their traditions and impossible rules.

Yes, gentle is excellent, and harsh is nasty where relationships are concerned. As we become more like Jesus, we become softer in demeanor, and our level of compassion for others deepens. What a worthy goal it is for all of us to be more like Him!

I passionately relate to this article. I love anything 'gentle.' Thank you.
Repeated words or phrases invoke emphasis which is good.
However, FW guidelines, say, interalia, that the topic and title should be avoided [paraphrased] in the article. Please, check this out. I shall, too, in case it has changed?
