Buried deep within the ground
Where winter frost has struck it dead
In frozen field or flower bed.
But soon the warming trends of spring
Could find some changes happening.
While soaking in its soothing bath
That death may have an aftermath.
That precious seed may split in two
Promising food for me and you.
Then tiny leaves of green appear
Followed by flower, stem or spear
To fill our hearts with great delight.
Ah, fields of flowers – what a sight!
Behold the miracle of spring
And all that tiny seeds can bring.
But there are other kinds of seeds.
Precious words may spawn good deeds.
But not when hearts are full of pride
And will not let the Lord inside.
We must die to self to live
And open up our purse to give.
It's then that love can best survive
And grow and grow and really thrive.
