Have blue in them; the king’s robes, too, and wisdom’s cord.
Earth gives vermilion, the costly palace paint
Condemned by Jeremiah; insects give the taint
Of Israel’s scarlet sins, the lips like crimson threads.
Look well at yellow gold, and leprous yellow heads.
On purple Canaan thrived - rich fabric, proudly worn;
Upon a purple seat King Solomon was borne.
Red boldly colours war shields, pottage, fiery sky,
Satanic dragon, heifer, horse and bloodshot eye.
On Judgement Day the sun turns black; in Laban’s flocks
Fine lambs are black, as are the lover’s raven locks.
The young men’s glory is their strength; but, we are told,
Hair turning grey in wisdom beautifies the old.
Enjoy the white of snowy peaks, bleached clothes, fine teeth;
But shun the whitewashed tomb that hides its dirt beneath!
Idolatry may thrive on green and leafy heights,
But green means life and health to faithful Israelites.
Love colours all creation, and its light transforms
Each human heart, and brightens, purifies and warms.

The first few lines looked clumped up. But I enjoyed the latter part!
