Waiting is no fun
it demands patience
faith and endurance
One thing I am sure
I waited in the past
and God did show up
On Him I put my trust
and rest my hope
I may not see it now
but one fine day
I will learn the truth
and the real lesson

I waited for 25 nights
for my wife to wake up
from the ICU bed
I focused on His goodness
promises and purpose
then I witnessed the gradual healings
coming in dregs and pieces
It forms in me patience
for my wife and others
which is not always easy
as waiting is trying
draining energy, emotions
and strengths, physical and mental

Like the psalmist
for God alone
my soul waits in silence
away from self-pity
and complaint
I will not be shaken
He is my refuge
and tower of strength
my very timely help
in times of needs
He is indeed my rock
my salvation, my fortress
on Him I set my heart
Surely, He will repay
me with His steadfast love
