on this side of heaven
Plan I may
but the outcome
may go hay-wired
the weather behaves
strangely
not following the rhythms
and seasons
a sudden downpour
of flash rain
may turn a road into a stream
a supposedly cool night
turns up to be the warmest
commitment is short lived
much subject to whims and fancies
or mood swings
At times missing the mark
forgetting an appointment
sometimes doing no wrong
yet caught up in a situation
I don’t see coming
and beyond my control
but found myself culpable
Even done someone a favour
only to find myself in trouble
Life does not follow a schedule
more like a pot luck
efforts and inputs
but outputs
do not flow naturally
May I show up
not audit life
and make the most of it
I rather have more soul
less perfection, so more light
to shine through
I will show up with flaws
and messy life
Life indeed has its logic
that I fail to follow
Let Him be my Way
my Truth and my Life
