If my book was a bed,
It wouldn’t get read,
Or so my mom said,
When the family was led,
By my uncle Ted,
In a prayer for Fred.

Now Fred used to say “If my book was a table,”
I wouldn’t be able,
To watch any cable,
Keep my tea stable,
Find things with a label,
Or sit with my wife Mabel.

Now Mabel used to say “If my book was a tree”,
I’d go weak in the knee,
When I tried to see,
How to unlock the key,
To getting it free,
For my sister Bea.

Now Bea used to say, “If my book was a whale”,
I’d tell quite a tale,
As I munched on kale,
And set sail,
To go further than my mail,
Could carry my friend Gail.

Now beds, tables, trees and whales,
Freds, Mabels, Beas and Gails,

Are all good but can any compare?
To my book, oh so fair?

My book will win every time.
And that is the end of my rhyme.
