I am a city chap
used to dust and din
pampered by creature comforts
that the the place has to offer

To move to the country
or stay put in my urban dwelling
is the question
Shall I or shall I not

Will I feel lonely
and quiet living there
Though the air is fresh and clean
the scent of wild flowers and grass
give off a unique aroma
fluttering birds on wings high
honey bees buzz by
The surroundings are pleasant and green

The folks are friendly
and live in a close community
I hear people say
Will I feel the welcome
or walk often in the lonely lanes

Changing my residence
is like changing my spiritual home
I long to belong
to a fellowship
that loves and affirms
,appreciating each other’s giftings
Will I find a church that I can call it home?

Jesus loves the urbanites
who live in Jerusalem
and the rural folks
in Sychar

Shouldn’t this be my attitude
and my goal
wherever I am
I should seek their well-being
and edification of the place
His will be done and not mine
