Topic: MARRIAGE (08/25/16)
When God created man, we see in the Bible where He also created a helpmate. Genesis, 2:18, " And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helpmeet for him." According to the account the woman is created to be a helping companion (later made subordinate) to man.

Because they ate the forbidden fruit, (the fall of man) the man becomes a farmer to till the soil filled with thorns and thistles and the woman is to suffer pain in child birth. As Adam is naming all the creatures, Genesis, 3:23, " And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man." Man becomes dominate over woman. and even though Adam had sin against the Lord God, he was allowed to live a very long life. Genesis 6:5," And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died."

Men in the Old Testament continued to live hundreds of years as they served the Lord. Noah in Genesis :-29, " And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years and he died." Men lived a long time in order to repopulate the earth after the great flood, however, as the earth's population grew the lifespan of man began to decline --also-- as sin increases on the earth so also does the lifespan decrease --- evidence of this is well documented

I read in the Bible where the Jewish nation changed their respect for mans helpmate after they returned from exile. The woman was blamed for all the trials and tribulations they experienced, time and time again.

In the New Testament, we see the change where our Lord Jesus Christ honored his mother. The Bible tells us. in Matt 12;46-50." The true family of Jesus is those who do his Father's will." The early Church congregations were family or house churches, led by householders. As Jesus ministered to the masses and his disciples; He spoke to women and the Lord's respect for women at times caused His disciples to question the Lord's respect for the Jewish laws of the day.

Today, we see where the Christian man has now a life expectancy of 80 years and his helpmate still has the 85 plus years that God originally gave her. A helpmate now is as God planned, to be there for the full life of man and they both worship the Lord together. Women have accepted many duties in the Lord's Church today and use their God given abilities to serve our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yes, The true family of Jesus is those who do the Father's will.

I thought your piece was well thought out and presented. You stayed with your main thought throughout your writing. You presented some interesting Bible points. Nice work is such a short time.
