Topic: STIR (11/12/15)
When I was a child, I couldn’t wait to get to school to learn new things. I especially loved books and reading, even though I was not a very fast reader. My favorite reading past times were the “Little House on the Prairie” series that I found in our small library in the corner of our little country school house. Oh, how I wished I could write books like those.

In my later grades, I tried my hand at writing short stories and poems. The Limerick became one of my favorite poems to write. I also started writing daily in a personal diary, of which I kept close tabs on so no one would see. It was there where I could really express myself. So began my slight dream of being a famous writer.

As so often is the case, my dream was pushed to the background as real life began. There was work to be done on the farm, a college career to pursue, bills to pay, and less time to write. Eventually, I married and tried to help my husband fulfill his dream. The writing somehow got pushed to the back burner, so to speak.

Then one day while praying, the Lord reminded me that he had given me a talent I failed to use to my full potential. I never thought of it as a dream God had placed within me from the very beginning. He helped me cultivate it through the years with a writing class here and there, one article published while I attended college, and a desire every now and then to write more. However, now God insisted I use this talent He gave me to touch lives and further His kingdom. My little dream came to the forefront as a top priority.

I believe God has placed a dream or two within all His children from the day they were created within the womb. Although we may not recognize those talents early in life, God is always preparing us to make the dream come alive whenever we do. It is never too late to let the Lord stir up the dream within you.

As for me, now I realize all the trials and struggles I experienced have given me a lot of material to write about. Thankfully, the Lord gave me many victories I want to share.

I encourage you to stir up the dream within you and make a difference in your life and the lives of those around you. The Lord is waiting to help you make your dreams come true.

Very interesting and credible testimony. Could I suggest adding a couple of anecdotes to illustrate your personal journey back into your dream - a case of showing as well as telling - for you are well within the word limit.
