I failed another math test. I think Mrs. Hampton has it in for me. I hate school.
March 22nd
My period is really late. I’m getting nervous.
March 24th
Mom and Dad have been whispering a lot lately. Something’s going on but I don’t know what.
March 25th
I threw up in the bathroom this morning. I hope no one heard me.
March 27th
I got one of those test kits at the drug store. I’m pregnant. I don’t know what to do.
March 28th
I talked to Bobby. He doesn’t want anything to do with the baby, or with me anymore. He told me to get rid of it. I’m so confused and so alone! I’m afraid to tell Mom and Dad.
March 30th
I found out what all the whispering is all about. Mom has breast cancer. I want to die.
March 31st
I got my report card today. I hid it under the mattress. I failed math and got a D in history. Mom and Dad are going to flip out. I still don’t know what to do about the baby. Bobby isn’t speaking to me.
April 2nd
I can’t tell Mom and Dad. They’re so stressed right now. Mom’s been crying a lot, and Dad has dark circles under his eyes. They keep putting on a cheery act around me. Maybe I should just kill myself. Then they wouldn’t have to worry about me anymore. I’m such a failure anyway.
April 3rd
I couldn’t do it. I sat and stared at a bottle of Mom’s sleeping pills for about an hour last night, but something stopped me from actually taking them. I can’t really explain it. I was all set to do it, but I couldn’t go through with it.
April 5th
My pants are getting tight – I need to do something about this baby before anyone finds out.
April 7th
Mom and Dad dragged me to church this morning. I’m so tired! I threw up in the bathroom there and Mrs. Rodriquez heard me. What if she figures it out? What if she tells Mom and Dad?
April 8th
Mrs. Rodriquez came and visited me after school. She guessed that I’m pregnant, but she’s not telling Mom and Dad. She said I need to do that. She made an appointment for me to go to some care center place.
April 10th
The ladies at the care center were super nice. I got to see my baby on an ultrasound. I didn’t know it would look like that! I can’t get rid of it now. I still don’t know what I’m going to do. This lady Angela talked to me a lot about Jesus. Some of it made sense. I need to think.
April 12th
Mom’s going in for surgery at the end of the week. Dad sat me down and told me I’m going to need to take care of things around here, since he’s going to be spending lots of time with her in the hospital. How can I take care of things around here when I can’t even take care of myself?
April 13th
I went back to the care center. I talked to Angela for two hours. She prayed with me. I asked Jesus into my heart. I don’t know how, but somehow I know now that everything is going to work out just fine.

I loved the ending...it was hopeful and left me with peace in knowing God was in control and no matter what, everything was going to be okay.
Well done!
God bless~
