“Zoey, look at this light!”
“I know, it’s incredible! It’s like a highway. Where do you think it goes?”
“It’s got to be heaven, Meg.”
“Come on, let’s go!”
“Wow! I’ve never seen anything so bright.”
“Yeah, and I feel such peace.”
“Sh-h-h-h. Listen to the singing. That must be the ten thousand, times ten thousand angels.”
“Oh, Zoey. The music’s so beautiful it makes me want to cry. But I don’t have any tears, only smiles. I’ve never heard anything like it!”
“Let’s hurry, Meg. I can’t wait to see what’s up ahead!”
“Zoey, no! Where are you going? Stop! Don’t step out of the light!”
“Who are you? Let go of me! Meg! Help me!”
“Leave her alone! Get your hands off her! Don’t touch me! Let me go! Help us, Jesus!”
“Oh, that was close.”
“I’m sorry, Meg. I thought I saw something in the darkness, and I was curious.”
“It’s okay, Zoey. Just remember, there’s no danger as long as we stay in the light.
“Look at this place! Never in my wildest dreams, did I ever imagine anything even close to this.”
“I wonder who those two people over there are?”
“I don’t know. Let’s go meet them!”
“Hi! We’re Meg and Zoey.”
“Nice to meet you girls. I’m Joseph, and this is Mary. We were Jesus’ parents on earth. That’s the apostles, Paul and Peter, standing next to the wall.”
“Oh my gosh! Is it okay if we hug you?”
“Why, I think that would be wonderful. Thank you for being so kind.”
“We’re looking forward to spending time talking with you. But right now, we’re really thirsty. May we drink from the river?”
“Certainly, dear ones. You’ll find the water to be pure and clean. And refresh yourselves with some fruit from the tree of life.”
“Thank you. I’m so hungry, I could eat an elephant. See you later!”
“We’ll look forward to it. Enjoy yourselves.”
“This water tastes better than any cool mountain stream. And just think, we never have to leave.”
“Meg, this fruit is delicious! I wonder what it is?”
“I don’t know. I’ve never seen anything like that.”
“Zoey, look at all the people gathered around, listening to that man.”
“Who do you think he is?”
“Maybe it’s Abraham. Or Moses! Or Noah! Or Daniel! Or JESUS!”
