Topic: Write for the FANTASY and/or SCI FI Genre (10/16/14)
Mission: Zemyata

Strong deductive skills, flexibility, and irreproachable moral character are key traits for the members of our team. The sensitive nature of our work requires a person with sound judgment and discretion because every decision made has only two outcomes - life or death. Dressed in our whole armor (Ephesians 6:13-17 ESV), we all stood attentively as each one was handed their area of operation.

This mission was to take place in Zemyata, a place none of us had ever been before. We had instructions to deliver personal messages to each and every inhabitant, in their own language and at the same exact time.

In a flash, like Elijah (2 Kings 2:11 NIV) and Philip (Acts 8:39-40 NIV) we were teleported to our next point of duty. Those who think that the benefits of advanced technology are priceless and that it has improved their lives, should think again. For instance, we watched the airport security checks in disbelief; the inhabitants waiting in long line to get to their gates. They had some identification that they had to show multiple times; and depending on what airport they found themselves in, they would sometimes be asked to go through a full-body scanner. We, on the other hand, travel from continent to continent by supernatural transference. We have no need for passports.

There are numerous ‘discoveries’ that have made the Zemyata inhabitants view themselves wiser than any other creation that ever lived. Some even think that these inventions would make the Disciples of Christ envious, but we know that their wisdom is foolishness (1 Corinthians 3:19 NIV). That is why we were sent to them with this short and clear message:

“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.” (Revelation 22:12 NASB)

We had a very limited time to carry out our task, so we positioned ourselves as per directives and waited for the hour to strike. When it did, we delivered the communication to every individual regardless of where they were or what they were doing at that particular moment. In less than thirty seconds of completion of this mission, we were transferred back to our base. Mission Zemyata was completed successfully.

Oops - I wanted to incorporate this into the comment. "A clever SCI-FI entry in every sense of the word...meaning interspersed with scriptural references" which I thought was extremely clever.
