God’s love’s been purposely trampled by those whose souls can’t rest
There was a time our leaders went to God for answers clear
How did we get so distanced from the One we should be near
There must be some accounting for these leaders of disgrace
Complacency must die today if we’re to win this race
Casualties are everywhere--guilt rests on sagging shoulders
Heavy hearts with faces red--we failed Him as His soldiers
Our tolerance is ending--what a shame it took so long
Apologies are urgent as we plead, “Forgive our wrongs”
Is laziness to blame when we turned the other cheek
Afraid to get involved and ashamed for being weak
In war parents mourn o’er graves of fresh turned sod
In peace nations die as they turn away from God
Let’s not be embarrassed to repent on bended knees
We must bow our heads in worship then follow Jesus--please
Together we’re an army and together we must stand
As we yield to El Shaddai and submit to His commands
Nations are being ravaged by those who follow greed
But souls fed by scripture will find nourishment they need
