You live inside a little hole
Within your private hell,
And lie awake
Every night,
As your heart is burnt
With the flames
Of an existence
Without love.

All you want to do
Is end it all,
To stop the torture
Of another day
Under the rack
Of everyone else’s disdain;
The only thing that stops you
Is the fear that once you die
This torture will still continue
Day after day
Forever.

You used to dream
That someday
An angel would visit you,
And bring a drop of love,
Which would be enough
To warm your frozen heart
For years.
You’ve seen the angels
Stoop to touch
The hearts of others,
But you have never seen one
Come near to you;
They must be too afraid
Of your hell,
Knowing they will only get burnt
Daring to enter the walls
Of your insanity.
All you can see ahead of you,
As far as your eyes can see,
Is an eternal existence
Living in this hell.

What would you think
If someone dared
To enter your hell?

The angels fear
The flames you taste,
The people scorn your pain,
But I have chosen
To bear it all
To be with you.

See the scars on my hands,
See the wound in my side,
See the stripes on my back—

I know what you are going through,
And I have welcomed it all,
Breaching hell itself
Just because I wanted
To be with you.
