She wanted me to meet a friend.
In Israel she’d stand on the Holiest land,
A Bahai temple was her end.
While way back at home, to roller skating I’d roam,
My friend and I went out for the night.
They said, “girl ask the guy”, so we gave it a try,
The two guys we didn’t have to fight.
The one told me yes, for he would not protest,
The offer I gave to him.
He was cute as could be and I a senior was free,
To skate with him on a whim.
For this was the start where God did his part,
We dated quite shy of a year.
He asked me to marry and his name to carry,
For all of life without a fear.
I accepted the Lord to be in one accord,
Being one in the Biblical Christ.
I had learned that Bahai was just a dream in the sky,
Deceiving my mind with a heist.
Thirty years have now past and this relationship lasts,
Because Jesus is center each day.
We have hope for tomorrow and can get through the sorrow,
That life may be sending our way.
Our foundation is sure and our intentions are pure,
As we pray for our families still lost.
As this story will end may the Spirit descend,
For eternity is quite the cost.
Jesus, show them the way to come back from their sway,
And please do it very soon.
For the end that I see will bend every knee,
The end, “Once In A Blue Moon”.
