So when we arrive in the foyer, after walking into heaven through the door that only opens one way, will we be led to a room with a bed and perhaps a desk, or does a “place for you” really mean the equivalent of a bridal suite? After all, we are getting married to the bridegroom :)
Will there be a jacuzzi, a fridge stocked with our favorite drinks and no tab to pick up (no checkout necessary) and a grind and pour coffeemaker? What kind of art will be on the walls - the drawings our kids bring home from school, or maybe huge photos of the grandest heights and depths of creation?
What does Jesus do when he walks into the place He knows will be ours? Does He make sure the angels have turned back the 500 count Egyptian sheets before placing the Ghiradelli chocolates on the down feather pillow? Does He light candles that give off the fragrance we love when the countdown to our arrival begins?
This is not leading to my serving you up all the answers on the platter of white monitor. I’m just asking questions, like you, every day, and it’s kind of nice sometimes to not have answers. All I'm sure of is that my Jesus is waiting there for me, and I will be with Him someday, forever.
That’s all I need; that’s my kind of heaven.
