I remember the exact day, a defining moment in my pregnancy. If I had not been still I would have missed it. It was just a tiny flutter, but more powerful than an earthquake. All the books define it but none can really describe it. My most simple description would be a miracle, one that could only be crafted by the hand of God.
As the weeks progressed you got bigger and stronger. The gentle twitches and nudges turned into full-blown kicks and jabs. I welcomed them, encouraged them and even tried to wake you up sometimes to feel them.
Finally the day came for me to welcome you into the world. I was ready hold the little hands and kiss the tiny toes that were so familiar to me already. No instruction manual was needed, the books were set aside. With a heart full of love, I was prepared to be a mother.
