Clothed in purest white,
To drive away the dark
With His perfect light.
To stand beside my bed
Sure, brave and strong,
To chase away my fears
Because the night is long.
My Lord sent me an angel
Clothed in purest white,
To remind me of His love for me
Which flows from heaven this night.
To shelter me beneath his wings
To keep a watchful stance,
Anything that means to harm
Doesn’t stand a chance.
My Lord sent me an angel
Clothed in purest white,
So I can close my eyes and dream
Without the need for fright.
To fill my heart with peace and love
So I won’t be afraid,
To let me know He heard me
When I softly prayed.
My Lord sent me an angel
Clothed in purest white,
No longer frightened in the dark
His presence shines too bright.
