If someone had told her she would be going on a wild adventure, never written before in all her story books, would she have believed them? Could she have believed this would be the last night her family would all be together, for years to come?
Many lives changed the night the Nazis took control of France. Some families were never reunited; only to suffer unspeakable horrors in the concentration camps leading to their ultimate death.
For Tova, Michal and their family, the grace of God prevailed. They all, by His sovereign hand upon them, survived the next few years under Nazi tyranny.
Since before eternity began, God foreknew the tragic events awaiting His chosen people. He also knew exactly the ones who would rise up and stand for righteousness in the face of horrific evil.
In a small remote village in southern France, one such family risked their lives to do the right thing. They adopted Tova and Michal into their family and hid them from the authorities searching for Jewish children to kill.
Their lives were spared because of the compassion and courage of a faithful, God-fearing remnant.
On that terrible night, Tova’s life indeed did change. She was robbed of a normal childhood. Yet, by the grace of God, she experienced unusual sacrificial love by strangers. Because of this kindness, God’s plan for future generations was not thwarted.
Praise God for His unfailing love and how He uses ordinary people to show His mercy.
