Diverse dialects indicate specific location and characterization.
It may be a united Kingdom by title, but it is a conglomeration of dialects. Some dialects may be similar and easily understood as spoken English. Other dialects are almost in line to be classed as languages.
The Celtic languages easily define Scotland, Ireland and Wales as nations with their individual cultures. It could be emphasised that their national uniqueness is readily observed by the language.
Some dialect groups are subjects for jokes. Other groups are ridiculed and maligned. A personal retort to some could be, "I don't understand a word you are saying!" "Yoo dunna speek english, yoo dunna!", might be their response.
Each county has its own dialect, which includes specific terminology and descriptions not recognisable by English-speaking vacationers. Visitors from other locations are often heard asking for translations into their version of the English language.
A dialect distinguishes a person as coming from a certain part of the British Isles. Dialects divide the country into a multiplicity of living areas. Each dialect has its own beauty and cadence. Whereas some are bland and lazy, others are musical and attractive.
It may be one Kingdom but the populace gives stark evidence of distinctive diffences. It is united and the crack of divisive dialects is certainly no weakness. It will not fall!
