Almost fifty years ago, two sailors from Norway were on shore leave in an Australian port. They passed a store which had a photo of a lovely model in the window. One of the men turned to the other and said, "Some day I'll come back here, look her up and marry her."
"Oh, sure," laughed the other fellow.
But he really did! Several years later he had saved enough money to return to the same city, found out who she was and where she lived. They met, fell in love and eventually married. He is the father of my friend, Ulla (pronounced all-ah). She is one of the most mature Christians I have ever met. Her parents are still married, and though in failing health, are still in love.
What a lovely story, and how it does touch the hearts of those who believe in destiny, in God's guidance, and-- yes--in love at first sight.
