The Reason

There’s a reason for the season
It’s as clear as pumpkin pie.
God sent his only son
To earth for him to die.

We celebrate his birth, that night
The angels they did sing,
So hark, I say, and shout with joy
Rejoice let praises ring!

It’s not about a Santa,
Nor reindeer nor the snow -
It’s about the love of God, our dad
Who wanted us to know.

So when you open packages
And ring the Christmas tree,
Think about the one who came
To earth, that you might see.

So eat that figgy pudding,
And roast those chestnuts high.
Think on these things, the heart of God
Who sent his son to die!

Look up at night -Christmas star -
And follow where it shines.
And you will find a manger stall
A child - pure love sublime

As you unwrap your packages
And joy fills every face,
Just know the sacrifice of love
That fills this gift of grace.

The reason for the season
The answer if you can.
We celebrate the birth of God
Who soon will come again!
