Aromatic and stately,
Its roots deeply grounded
To hold it firmly
In the fiercest storm.
Truth is like a rose,
Soft and tender,
With beauty unsurpassed,
Still containing thorns
That can wound.
Truth is like a rock,
Granite from a mountainside,
Solidly impenetrable,
Indestructible,
Trustworthy.
Truth is like a light,
Showing the way
Through darkest night,
Leaving nothing
Hidden from sight.
Truth is like a sword,
Cutting away the charade
Of piety
That is merely
Empty pretence.
Truth is like a banner,
Proclaiming the right,
Decrying the wrong,
Declaring the road
To follow.
Truth is like the ocean,
Returning to the shore,
Constantly,
Faithfully,
Hour by hour.
Truth is like the sky,
Vast, above all,
Created
To be
Eternal.
Truth is like a fire,
Warmly inviting,
With glowing embers
To hold off winter
From the heart.
Truth is like a jewel
Of radiant color,
Designed and faceted
By a Master
Craftsman.
Truth is THE WORD,
GOD’S WORD:
Redemption, salvation,
Everlasting hope
For all mankind.
