At the hotel we stayed, a very nice one I may add, we checked in, received our room keys, and brought our luggage to our rooms. Traveling down one hall with a friend, noticing that another couple of women from our group were following at a distance, something came over me. All of the doors down the hall we were walking were set in from the wall…a perfect place to hide and surprise the two unsuspecting ladies behind us. So my girlfriend, who was walking with me, and I ran ahead, trying to be quiet, and hid behind one of the walls set in. We giggled in our crouched positions, shushing each other, and waiting for our “prey.” We heard their footsteps, they were getting closer, and we decided to count to three before jumping out to surprise the two women from our group. We counted…one…two…I was so ready…THREE! I jumped out with everything I had and yelled, “Surprise!” The gentleman employed by the hotel, whose bellybutton I was staring at, didn’t spill one drop of coffee he was carrying. He calmly said, “They went to look at the fitness room down the hall.” I would have responded, if able. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I were incapacitated in laughter on the floor. The two women that we were planning to surprise came running at the onset of noise down the hall. They found us delirious in laughter…unable to speak.
We went to dinner in the hotel, and there was the employee I jumped at earlier in the hall, and being the adult woman I am, pretended I didn’t notice him, sat in a corner of the dining area, hid behind a menu, and hoped he forgot about the incident. I wondered if this type of thing happens to him all the time. He was so calm…he probably heard us snickering as we were hiding behind the wall and thought, “Oh no, here we go again.” Girls just gotta have fun!
