Jesus said in John, Chapter 4, verse 23, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him."
Worship is the bridge that creates intimacy with our creator.
An example of worship would be to kiss the hand as a sign of our love, similar to the way a dog would lick the hand of his master he loved unconditionally. It also means to prostrate or bend the knee in an act of supplication or willing obedience, not caring what we look like, or what anyone else thinks of us.
When we cross over the bridge and are engulfed in the spiritual realm, time stands still, just as it will when we are in His presence in our eternal reward (Revelation 10:6).
Transformed into His presence, all those things we are presently consumed with on this earth melt away. We are immersed in his love and acceptance. We become ?one? with the One as Jesus said he wanted us to be in John, Chapter 17, verses 21-22.
If we plan to spend eternity with our Lord, we need to get to know Him now. If we are truly His bride and He is our bridegroom, we need to know what makes Him happy. We need to know him intimately.
We may worship individually. However, intimacy or communion with the rest of His bride is ultimately important as well. The bride of Christ (Revelation 21:9) includes all of the true believers. We are known by the rest of the world to be Christians by the love we have for one another. There can be no jealousy (John 13:35).
The spiritual paradigm of this "bridge" is often experienced in corporate worship. Ideally all hearts, thoughts, and prayers are directed towards the same target. Spiritual gifts are activated. Hearts are softened. Sins are forgiven. Hurts are mended and purity is restored. Love abounds.
Peace descends upon the bride like a true wedding veil, blocking out the rest of the world. Transcending our mortal world, we cross over the bridge of worship into immortality even if only for a few brief moments in time.
