we all are
but then nurse Eddy
slapped my behind-
ran a temporary line
I shrieked, “Hello, life.”
not a dropped call
at all
others were though
in years to come
that job I missed
they tried three days
at least so they say
and then hired another
an old flame
(now what was his name?)
said he dialed my number
and that I didn’t answer
I must have been away
that day
I almost won the Lotto
but the call went wild
landed who knows where
I did care
but not now, not really
then there was the time
I changed the bell chime
missed that one too
let it ring aling
while I slept away the hour
what a shame? it would seem so
but no
those lost calls?
all in the dead zone
every one
but I am out of there
because when God called
and I picked up
it was an endless
Life line connection
can you hear me now?
