There are no Crystal Cathedrals on our trip.
No platforms or spotlights.
No book signings or Top Ten Hits.
No Dove Awards or Christian Writer’s accolades.
Not even an Editor’s Choice to keep you warm at night.
No siree.
Do you still wanna come?
There will be no afternoon TBN interviews.
No conference circuit or Christian cruise.
And don’t even think about trying to sell
Those Jesus trinkets I know so well.
Your wardrobe requirements are pretty slim:
A humble spirit and a broken heart for sinners.
So where are we going you ask?
To the uttermost parts of the earth.
To the hungry and to the thirsty soul.
To the blind and sick and lonely one.
To the prisoner and the stranger too.
And don’t forget the naked, orphan and widow.
How much will you have to pay?
This adventure will cost you everything.
Your reputation, blood, sweat and tears.
You’ll be judged and misunderstood.
It may even tap into your deepest fears.
The reward, you ask? Ah yes, the treasure.
That would be a
“Well done my son or daughter.”
From the King of Kings.
He'll welcome you into the inheritance
Prepared for all who do unto the
‘Least of these’.
Well, that about wraps it up.
Do you still wanna come?
Just understand this is the Fellowship of the Suffering One
And not some first class ticket to paradise in the sun.
I see you’re determined to follow in His steps
So, strip right down, here and now,
And I'll measure you for your cross.

Which of us can say we are ready? We can only squeeze our eyes shut, grab Father's hands, and scream as the roller coaster hits the first dive!
Great job!
