God reached out to Man.
For He prepared a place,
To carry out His plan.
The plan was laid ‘fore time,
Before the light appeared.
Man would commit the crime,
Sin’s ugly head was reared.
To build an ark of wood.
A chosen man was told.
And the plan it was good,
For his family it would hold.
The sinful people died.
When the water came nonstop.
But when the water dried,
They landed on the mountaintop.
Back in times gone by,
The people fell from grace.
They built a tower to the sky,
But, it blew up in their face.
God scattered them abroad,
New languages they learned.
Though their plan, it was flawed,
For God, some still yearned.
Another stage of the plan,
A smaller ark was used.
A babe would become a man,
And of murder, was accused.
Although he led the way,
God’s plan was yet to come.
The people went astray,
Before they reached their home.
A Child would be born,
To a woodworker’s wife.
Even though she would morn
She praised God for His life.
He grew in strength and truth,
His Father’s work to do.
And taught, despite His youth.
And they wondered how He knew.
In that chosen place,
More than a man, He bled.
A cross held the gift of grace,
A cruel crown on His head.
Across time and space,
The plan finally made known.
On a cross He took our place,
So that we might go home.
