The day Potiphar's wife saw Joseph, she became attracted to him. Joseph was a handsome young man, but more than his looks drew her. He was different. His mannerism—the way he spoke to her soft and intelligent. She knew he was an innocent young man, and he was "one in a million." And her feelings for him grew as the days went by, and she desired to be intimate with him. But she did not know that the Lord was with him.

Joseph was the son of Jacob. His father had four wives. So, he grew up in a large family. Rachel was one of Jacob's wives, and he loved her. She bore him two sons, Joseph and Benjamin. His older brothers rejected Joseph because his father dearly loved him and gave him a coat of many colors. The older brothers became jealous of him and sought to destroy him. Finally, they got the opportunity, threw him into a pit, and passers-by took him out and sold him as a slave. To hide the truth from their father, they pretended that a wild animal killed him.

Joseph sold to Potiphar, who was the captain of Pharaoh's guard. Potiphar saw that Joseph was intelligent and made him master of his household.

One day, as Joseph was busy with his job, he felt that someone was watching him. he looked up, and Potiphar's wife watched him with seductive eyes. His body trembled, and he became afraid. Joseph felt "the pull" and tried to avoid her from then on. Nevertheless, she would seek for him and seek every occasion to meet with him alone, and he made sure that someone was always with him when he met her.
Potiphar's wife was a beautiful woman and was known as one of the distinguished women in the country. Probably Joseph was temped because he was a young man, and even though God was with him, he was still human. I could imagine him praying to God every day for help because he knew that Potiphar's wife was determined to have a relationship with him.

She made her advances, Joseph ignored her, and she was angry. "How dare him refusing me," she thought. "I am beautiful and desirous; how dare him!" Then the opportunity came when they were alone. She begged him and tried to persuade him to take her. She caught him and hugged him. He jerked till he even pulled his coat off and ran from her. She was mad and embarrassed. She lied that Joseph tried to rape her. She told her husband that he left his coat behind after fighting him. When Joseph came back, they put him in prison.

When I think about self-control, Joseph comes to mind. He was the epitome of self-control. And the reason was that God was with him. And so are we if God is with us.
