A promise is a special thing. It is a binding agreement that is meant to be kept between individuals. God has made many promises in the bible to his people. One of the most important promises God has made to his people is that he will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6). In the bible, God has also made promises to specific individuals concerning their life. One of the most well known promises; God has made to an individual in the bible, is the promise he made to Abram and Sarai, whose names were changed by God in Genesis chapter seventeen verse five and verse fifteen, to Abraham and Sarah. God promised, in Genesis chapter seventeen verse two, to make his covenant with Abraham and multiply him exceedingly. God promises in Genesis chapter seventeen verse four, to make Abraham, (who was 99 years old and didn’t have any children yet) a father of many nations. “And I will make thee exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of thee and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee” (Genesis 17, verses 6-7).
In God’s covenant promise with Abraham, every male among them had to be circumcised no matter what their age (Genesis 17, verse 10). With this covenant God also changed Abraham’s wife’s name from Sarai to Sarah (Genesis 17: verse 15). “And I will bless her and give thee a son also of her: yea I will bless her and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her” (Genesis 17, verse 16). God promised that Sarah would bear a child in her old age of ninety and Abraham’s old age of nearly a hundred. This promise of a child in their old age made Abraham fall upon his face and laugh (Genesis 17, verse 17). “Then Abraham fell upon his face and laughed, and said in his heart, shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah that is ninety years old bear?” (Genesis 17, verse 17). God promised Abraham that around that set time next year, Sarah would bear a child (Genesis 17, verse 21).
Angels or messengers of God came to visit Abraham one day and reminded him of God’s promise that his wife Sarah would bear a child at that time next year (Genesis 18, verse 10). Sarah laughed within herself when she overheard what the lord had spoke to Abraham (Genesis 18, verse 12). Personally, in my own life, over seven years ago, while I was studying God’s word, he had made me a promise that I would have a second child, if I remained faithful in my marriage. My marriage at the time was going through some marital struggles. I persevered through those struggles and kept the faith. Eventually things changed and it has been like being on a honeymoon these last five years. It took over three years of trying to conceive before I conceived my now one year old son. Just like God kept his promise to me, he kept his promise to Sarah and Abraham.
“And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him” (Genesis 21:1-2). How many of us have laughed about a dream or vision God has put into our hearts; doubting God will bring it to pass? I currently believe, I have been given a dream by God to become a well known poet and writer one day. That is a big dream considering I have self-published four books of poetry. Three are full length manuscripts of a hundred pages or more. I believe God wouldn’t put this dream in my heart to become a writer for nothing. The dream is there to help me achieve my short and long term goals. I refuse to laugh at my dreams. Hopefully one day they will be fulfilled like the promise which states that God will give you the desires of your heart. “Delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Psalms 37: verse 4).

As you are a poet I was a bit disappointed there was not more rhythmic flow in your words. Some writers weave words that express His beauty - its my desire to do that. And as you have said ‘He gives us the desires of our geart’.
Hope to read many more of your entries.
You could still Bible references to backup your main idea, but weaving the topic into your own story or the story of an MC in a fictional account would give your entry more life.
There is a PDF book available for upgraded members called 'Bring Your Writing to Life' and also on the website in the forums there are writing lessons-Ann and Jan's basics, that I would recommend if you are desiring to grow and fulfill your dream.
