It’s not that I don’t love you,
I simply need my space.
You see, I have things to do
I’m in a human race.
It’s not that I don’t need you,
Just not everyday.
I have a job, wife and kids
And bi-weekly I get paid.
It’s not that I don’t hear you,
I’m with you once a week.
And on Christmas and on Easter
I think I heard you speak.
It’s not that I don’t thank you,
So much fills my time.
And so far everyday has fit
Just like a lovely rhyme.
It’s not that I don’t love you,
So I’ll see you in a week.
I look forward to hearing from you
If of course you speak.
