My dad once shared a story with my brother and me when we were ten and eleven years old. He would always share his thoughts and possible situations that we might find ourselves in so that we could never say that I didn't know. My older brother was an outdoorsman, and he loved being in the woods, either fishing, trapping, or whatever. This story was about the Love and Protection of a mother. Her name was Geraldine, and she had three rambunctious children, two males, and one female.

Geraldine being aware of the magnitude in training her cubs properly, likewise, the consequences of not protecting them or simply preparing her inexperienced cubs in the ways of the forest as well as its inhabitants. This particular chore is one only a mother can adequately accomplish. She teaches her young ones through her actions. One essential lesson is that she shows them how to rummage for grubs and insects under stones, and the most important experience is to fear their natural adversaries. One might wonder what could be a natural enemy of the Grizzly Bear. First and foremost, It's us, man, and then they must prepare for their extended winter sleep (Hibernation).

Earlier I mentioned how important it was for Geraldine to teach her yearlings the technique in locating Grubs and Insects; in other words, a sure-fire way to find something to fill their immediate hunger. She taught her cubs to lift a stone to one side and then to sweep it away using a powerful motion, revealing a nourishing snack. These lessons could mean life or death; most of their time, these yearling cubs only wanted to play or frolic through the brush discovering new and exciting things in their environment.
It amazes me just how smart the Grizzly and Brown Bears are, and very resourceful as well.

Geraldine was teaching her yearlings by example, especially in their appropriate eating routine. Mom continues to teach which foods are available at what times, where to find them, and how to eat them.
If a bear hasn't learned, it's lessons on how to prepare appropriately for hibernation, and the winters usually are harsh and long. It's constant wandering in search of a meal when it should be preparing a place for its long hibernation. For this reason, Geraldine is meticulous in the training up of her yearlings, as she is acutely aware of what can happen.

A grizzly cub is born without a natural fear of its adversaries. Moma's job is to teach her cubs just what to avoid. First, they must learn to have a healthy regard for papa bear and stay out of his way. They see first hand how mom keeps her distance from the wolves, mountain lions, and of course, Man.

Okay we have covered a few things thus far and lastly
I have another thought regarding hibernation. Question:
DOES A GRIZZLY BEAR AUTHENTICALLY HIBERNATE?
Officially, no. A grizzly can be aroused from its slumber
by a trespasser and definitely would become wide-awakened
immediately to address any possible threat. In actuality, a grizzly may appear at the entranceway of its den in the middle of winter. Point of fact bears genuinely benefit from their winter forty winks, their body goes through a refurbishment as it were. By the time the snow falls, their nails are very short due to digging out their winters den in a hillside. They also align the den floor with leaves for warmth and comfort. By this time, they have pretty much eaten their fill of salmon, and the fat of the salmon assist the grizzly in bulking up for the three to six month hibernation period. As our dad told us about the Grizzly Bear and how Geraldine the bear prepared her cubs with the information needed for them to have a fulfilling life. She teaches by example, as we humans do, prayerfully, you are aware that your children are watching and listening even when you believe that they are not. So Parents, Grandparents as well as Great-Grandparents the Word of God is specific in the charge given. ( PROVERBS 22:6) " Train up a child in the way he should go; Even when he is old, he will not depart from it. "
Each of our children is an individual, and it is up to parents to discern and encourage God's gift(s) to them. And we must raise them accordingly, so let's test the Father. Train your children to choose the right way.
