My brother and his wife came to visit during a challenging time in my family's life. While riding in his car one night, I noticed his headlights were lighting up the road so much brighter than mine ever did.
"Wow, you don't even have your high beams on," I said, amazed!
He told me about a headlight cleaner he purchased the year before. He explained how he used it. My brother is very slow and detailed in his descriptions. He said you had to have two days of sunny weather or an enclosed area, such as a garage. Any moisture would reduce effectiveness. He animated how he rubbed the paste carefully into every corner of the headlight, not missing a spot, and then left it to set for so many hours before removing it.
I was so impressed with the proof! I wanted to buy this product.
I never did.
I don't have a garage.
I never trusted I would have two sunny days in a row.
I chose to remain in shadow rather than light.
Jesus Christ has come to light a world of darkness. It was His obedience to the cross that made this possible, and it is man's obedience to Him that we can share in it.
"Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." (Phil 2:8 NASB)
For God, who said,"Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." (2 Cor 4:6 NASB)
As a Christian, we still can choose to walk in darkness while having withing us all the light we need.
Many have chosen salvation, but how many continue to walk obediently in every area of their life?
"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,"(Colossians 2:6 NASB)
Faith obedience brings surprises of joy where there once were blind spots.
