The artisan has to wait for the plant materials to grow before they can be used for their creation. They wait for metal wire to be manufactured to the proper gauge for bending. Once the materials are in their possession, they manipulate them with water for plant-based baskets, and heat for metal baskets. The bend and the weave need to work together otherwise there will be a flaw in the system.
God, the creator of the universe, works like an artisan basket weaver. By creating the world in six days, he began the idea of order and the necessity to wait for things to come. He created Adam and Eve to work together by giving each a variety of strengths, weaknesses, and the ability to think.
The prophets foretold the coming of Jesus.
Mary was chosen to give birth to Jesus.
Jesus chose his disciples.
Jesus died and was resurrected after three days in the grave.
We are born into families that grew from Adam and Eve.
Stories weaving together the prophets, Mary, Jesus, the disciples, and you and me can be found by reading the Bible. God is the weaver and he fashions us in the proper time and place by his design. So for example, if you are waiting for a baby to be born, a family member to be saved, a job, or a new house, you have to wait due to the order of things to come. Nine months is the preferred gestation for a baby in the womb. Prayers may need to be lifted up to God for years before a family member will be saved. The job and new house, well, they have yet to be created.
It is not by one strand alone, but many, that make up a woven basket. God works like a weaver in our lives. If we push through and manipulate the outcome on our own, there will be a flaw in the system.
Sometimes we simply have to wait.
