Smells of sweet oil float about the atmosphere.
A great sense of both excitement and peace overcome me
As I take my seat.
I know every stranger around the table.
They are my brothers and sisters.
Music from the psalmist drifts around us.
Lyrics so familiar,
It seems they were written straight from my heart.
Anxious to find my host,
I scan the room for Him
And notice the brilliant colored jewels adorning the walls.
Light like I have never seen
Illuminates the entire space.
There are no light fixtures.
Just brilliant clear light
Making every color more vibrant
My glasses are gone,
Yet I see clearly.
I hear every sound.
Smell every savory smell.
Excitement grows within my soul.
I hear singing and praising.
Our host has arrived.
Though I can’t see him yet,
The brilliant light is brighter
And I can feel His presence
I realize I am on my knees
Crying for joy .
I am immersed in His Holy Presence.
Singing praise to my Heavenly Father!
I can think of nothing else.
Totally at peace.
I don’t remember how long it took me to get here,
I only know I am home.
My Father reaches down,
Wipes my tears away and tells me
“Well done my good and faithful son”
Psalm 73:26 (KJV)
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
