Topic: HOT (08/10/17)
Smoke billows from the flames, concrete and sand crumbles dead like an autumn leaf onto the bodies below. Towers of steel beams are naked without structure.First responders enter into the the tower where shards of glass cut through he flesh of the chaos. The tower gave way and fell. A sink hole opened up and swallowed the buildings members, collapsing on the firefighters.
“Help, please, someone does anyone hear us?”
“No”, he moaned, as he looked up, and saw a beam come down upon his leg. Hours upon hours went by, and still no reply. Suddenly out of the blue, they could hear a tap, tap, taping sound. They shouted up,
“Hey, can you hear me?” He grunted in pain. Struggling to make his voice be heard from all the blood loss and lack of circulation, he mustard up enough strength to call out once more.
“We are down here.” Finally they found them and got them out. But a lot of people did not survive that day, it was an unfortunate time in History for us all.
For some lost their fathers, and some lost their mothers, others lost their children and even their grandchildren. On that day of of despair we reached out for God and He met us in our pain, and yet now we are so comfortable in our own little lives that we have little room for God, even though he saw us through such a tragic time. Our nation is no longer hot for Christ but lukewarm, but Jesus still reaches out with His grace each and every day, protecting us from those who wish to harm us. This is His ever present love and forgiveness even when we don’t deserve it.

You have a very apt description of us today using that tragic event many years ago.

This could be used as a devotional encouraging all to be conscious of what our life is like. Are we aware of Christ in us or is he only a story book character to us?

No question, the attacks on the world trade center stand out in our memories.
Watch for grammar and spelling mistakes.
Thanks for the reminder of those who gave themselves selflessly to save others, like Christ gave Himself for us.

I liked your opening paragraph. It drew me into your story.

I thought your story could have been expanded. I would have liked to know more about the characters in your story.

It would be a good devotional.
