In life, we often learn things the hard way. This world will let you down. They say if you want to know if someone is trustworthy, trust them. You will find out soon enough. Thus that may not be a wise thing to do. I've also heard it said that it takes years to build a good reputation. Yet one ugly lie can destroy a good name very quickly. It seems a lie can travel around the universe before the truth has even left the house. Often those we'd trust with our lives end up being the very ones to hurt us or betray our trust. I've learned that our greatest and most trustworthy friend is Jesus. For trusting Jesus each and every day gives us real assurance. Jesus is true friend. And as they say again, you can take that to the bank. His ways are forever true. He will never betray your confidence or break a promise He made. We can go to Him in any given situation and seek guidance through His sweet Holy Spirit. Trust in the Lord. Take Him completely at His word. Trust Him. He’ll lift you up, not let you down. Trust Jesus every day!

I once was bound in chains
Of betrayal and deceit
By those who gained my trust
Even friends and family

Convinced me just to trust them
Their word was good as gold
And I knew the best kept secrets
Would be the ones they never told

Yet time and time again
These people let me down
So I had a little talk with Jesus
And this is what I found

It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man
A heart revealed face to face
The truth lies in His hands

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Trusting Jesus, every day
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him
Praise His name, trust and obey

I have decided to follow Jesus
Jesus is all the world to me
Jesus loves the little children
Just a closer walk with Thee

No one ever cared for me like Jesus
I’m so glad love lifted me
All the way my Saviour leads me
My Jesus paid it all for me

I have found a friend in Jesus
He's my shelter from the storm
I’ll tell the world that I’m a Christian
He protects me from all harm

All to Jesus I surrender
Because He lives, I am set free
I can hear my Saviour calling
Take up your cross and follow me

Gonna lay down my burdens
As I kneel at the cross
While standing on the promises
Not a battle will be lost

There’s victory in Jesus
Thus one day I’ll fly away
And with blessed assurance
Trusting Jesus, every day

Your poem matches the theme in your prose. You managed to cover in your poem messages taken from songs and sayings that are familiar. A very good and original idea. What the reader gathers from your message is to put your trust only in Jesus.
