Each season they change
You pass them by daily
Not knowing their names
The colors are endless
Some short and some tall
Some stand through the ages
While others, they fall
Some trees have a meaning
For a loved ones first kiss
Some trees, sentimental
For loved ones we miss
A tree deeply rooted
Can withstand the wind
A tree grown on poor soil
Is bound to give in
Some trees carry poison
With caution proceed
From a tree came mans downfall
The apple and eve
Some trees give off shade
On a hot summers day
Some trees stand as markings
To show people the way
One tree was raised
So strong and so tall
It would carry mans sins
Once and for all
God knew of this tree
To fall it would stand
It would suffer the pain
Of an innocent man
The tree felt some sadness
This man was so frail
He cried with this man
As he felt the cold nails
It wondered aloud
Was this Gods plan?
Why did you choose me?
And who is this man?
God spoke to the tree
And it understood
Mankind would be saved
On a Cross made of wood.

Good job at writing such an extended metaphor quite capably.
