For starters may I suggest, an extra large portion of our calf, seared to a golden brown, from the frying pan to the fire. Roasted for eternity over a bed of hot coals, sliced and smothered in rich gravy, served on a platter of silver fit for kings. A hand picked potato, baked to perfection, split open, stuffed with Irish butter made from the cream of grass fed cattle, covered in cheese and sour cream.
Oh my word, don’t worry about that, eat like there’s no tomorrow. Who knows? Right? This could be your last meal, enjoy!
Dessert? Ah yes, the finest fruit, fresh from the garden, peeled, mashed, and squeezed into a crust, baked until done. Then covered with honey, served with a tall glass of fresh milk. It’s to die for.
May I now interest you in one of our fine dessert wines, or a coffee and Irish cream?
Ha! Oh the check. Yes, that. Well it seems we don’t take cash, or plastic. Free? No, no, nothing free. Everything has a price, the cost my good man, you have already paid.
You don’t remember? You were a poor, thin young man, begging. You wanted the best of everything. You would do anything. I gave it to you. The best job, the best houses, the best cars. The richest foods. I served you at every meal, as your appetite grew, it seems... so did you.
Don’t cry now, you have had high blood pressure for years. Doc said you have to cut back, slow down. Ha. Not you. Oh look at you now! Grabbing your chest! No one can save you...now!
My, my, I was wrong. You may get out of here without paying...for dinner.
Pardon the pun, but it seems as though you have been a glutton for punishment. Now if you will excuse me, I have another table calling.
