I cry within.
Tears fill my heart
as darkness falls,
the empty color of my sin.
From your sweet grace,
I’ve fallen so,
from the peace
and healing beauty of your face.
My soul is torn.
All hope now gone
that I will keep
the sacred promise I have sworn.
I fall to pray.
I ask you please
forgive me, Lord,
and lift me, guide me, broken, on my way.
Please, Lord, speak.
Let not my cries
freeze and crack
without the blessed Words I seek.
In silence deep,
I weep with pain
a fractured soul
too hopeless now to pray or sleep.
Then, through dark and cold,
a glimpse of light,
a warming wind,
a voice as new as it is old.
Refreshed and whole, I dance!
With strength of love
He brought the Spring,
the grace and hope of life’s new chance.
