Topic: Write an INSPIRATIONAL article (11/27/14)
Michael Robinson entered the ballroom carefully rolling his wheelchair to the edge of the dance floor. His heart nearly burst as he gazed upon the beauty that shone down upon him and that seemed to envelope him at every turn. This was his dream. This was the day that he had longed for since his precious daughter had been born. He watched her gracefully moving about with the man that she loved. Michael knew one day that he would be replaced, but now that it was final it hurt just a little. His little girl was leaving to start a new life with another man; that was as it should be. He could feel tears coming from his eyes. He was a tough military man, but today he was just a dad who had given away his little girl. The music stopped as the newly married couple separated. The groom moved off the dance floor while the bride turned and offered her hand to her father. The smile on her face was radiant. This was the moment. Michael had been in battle, but he found this fear so much worse. The landmine had taken away his god-given legs, but medical science had provided a substitute. Michael had spent the last two weeks learning to use his new legs, but today was so much harder.

“Please join me, dad,” Michael’s daughter said joyfully.

Michael pushed on the arms of the wheelchair and got to his feet. The room began to spin and he worried that he would fall. He couldn’t ruin his baby girl’s special day. Finding resources he didn’t know he had Michael began to walk confidently over to his daughter. Her smile beamed brighter with every step. Finally he had her in his arms.

“You’re my hero,” She whispered in his ear.

“I love you,” Michael responded as the music began and they danced.

The moment was like pure rapture. Nothing could ever be wrong again. Life would never be the same, but it could be better; so much better.
