Topic: Curiosity Killed the Cat (10/10/13)
We all make mistakes and we find ourselves asking, "What was I thinking?"

Steve entered his boss' office to put a package on the desk. Turning to leave, a piece of paper with his name on it caught his eye. Suddenly, the door squeaked, and Steve felt himself becoming lightheaded. He spun around to find his boss glaring at him. Steve's jaw dropped, he tried to speak, but couldn't utter a word. His boss yanked the paper out of his hands. Before he could process his fatal mistake, security guards were escorting him out of the building.

It is amazing how putting an express envelope on a desk could get Steve in so much trouble.

Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding.Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NCV)

The verse reminds us that we need to trust in him even when we make fatal mistakes.We can’t rewrite the past, but with the Lord's help, we can change the future. We are going to have hard times in this world. If we ask him for help, then he can guide us through all of our temptations, blunders, and poor choices and use them to glorify the name of Jesus.

Dear Lord,At times, we all do things without thinking. Please help us to trust you and get us through the difficulties we may have created for ourselves. Let it be a learning experience where we grow in our faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.

This is a nice devotion. I like the Scripture you used. I did have a problem with the line it's amazing how putting an envelope on the desk could cause trouble. That didn't cause the trouble, his being snoopy did. Overall though, you did a nice job of covering the topic while delivering an important message.
