After I caught my breath, I stammered, "Yes, I've seen you on campus. You're a cheerleader, right? But why would you want me to be your roommate?"
Debbie answered, "Well, you seem to be honest and trustworthy from the times I have seen you." Debbie continued to speak about her own life and how this would be her last semester at college. She said she didn't want to live on campus any more. I told her I would think about the proposal.
After several days, we met again and agreed to be roommates. Over the summer, we became good friends and discovered both of us had a passion for tennis. We played tennis daily and possessed about the same skill level. We brought out the best in each other's game.
As the summer wound down, I realized I wasn't happy at the college because it lacked the curriculum I felt I needed. As Debbie and I discussed my problem, she said she would ask her boyfriend to bring some information from his university. Her boyfriend assured me his university had what I needed.
After investigating the university, I applied. The summer was almost over. Debbie graduated and secured a teaching job. I still hadn't heard if I had been accepted. With three days before the university started, I received a telephone call from the financial aids office and received a scholarship to attend. The timing had been God's perfect answer for me.
After three years, I finished the university and began a career in my field. I often think back to that "ding dong." Opportunity didn't come for me in a knock but in a ding dong.

Just a tip--for easier reading, each time a new speaker is speaking, just make a new paragraph, that way it isn't confusing as to who is speaking and who is answering.
