Busy little beavers
Moving all around.
Working in the kitchen
Aromas abound.

Cooking up a breakfast
For all of us to eat.
It’s really wonderful
And a special treat.

Biscuits and the gravy
And potatoes too.
Just a little for me
And a bunch for you.

So they go on cooking
Cooking up a storm.
It sure beats the cereal
Eating it’s the norm.

How we love their fixings
Just made for you and me.
They will make us happy
Just you wait and see.

Now a special blessing
For the many hands.
Filling up our bellies
Isn’t this life grand?

We'll gather in a circle
Pray to God above.
He will bless this breakfast
Filling it with His love.

When we are together
God is here with us.
He wants to fellowship
In Him we’re to trust.

I really loved this poem and I'm not big on poetry though this style you used is my favorite.

Some of the lines seemed to veer off the pattern just a touch, but anyone who has ever attempted poetry really understands that thew piece is never complete until the author can no longer write. I still look at poems from 20-30 years ago and take out my Pledge and start polishing.

Doing all of that in a few days is even harder. Your words were a balm to my broken spirit. Thank you for that.
