Rain Forest In Puerto Rico



As I looked at the picture on the wall, I remembered being there in the rain forest in Puerto Rico. The foliage was heavily laden with moisture. There was a musky smell where trees had fallen and rotted. There were rain drops rolling off the white petals of a group of flowers along the road. The middle of the flower was a dark pink like no crayon I had ever seen. The green was so dark that it looked like velvet.

I remembered leaning down to smell the flower. It was a mixture of lavender and rose petals. It was not a strong overpowering smell but it was light and feathery. You thought your nose would be able to retain this smell forever but as I look at the picture, I can not even begin to recall the smell.

It is amazing what intricate colors and aromas can come from flowers that we know are a work of art from above. I must remember that I was very fortunate to have been there and had the experience.

There are times when I have been out in a crowd of people and I get a whiff of cologne that has lavender or rose and my mind goes back to that day in the rain forest...

Thank you for taking us on this journey with you! I could definitely imagine it. One tiny thing: Change "...you thought your nose..." to "...I thought my nose..." Other than that, this was lovely and made me want to be there.

The second person kinda bothered the flow, but any discussion of El Y in PR interest me, ah, the odors from that great rainforest are so wonderful. Thanks for sharing a memory.

Ok. This wasn't a story. This wasn't a poem.
Um, it was a nice message though and opens the doors to so much possibilty and imaginings inside ones mind.
Thus, it will probably leave an impression on those who read it and job thoroughly done.
Who knows? I might be dreaming of the rainforest tonight. (but the ones in North QLD, Aus are totally the best in the world)
