Perhaps the movie would never have even been made since there would have been nothing left for the imagination. Dorothy probably wouldn’t have needed to run off in the first place because she could have used Mapquest to find a different way home, and everyone would have known that a tornado was getting ready to develop if they pulled up the weatherchannel.com.
Today everyone wants an answer now for whatever ails them or for whatever thought that pops into their heads. We are now prepared when we see our doctor because we did a symptom search to diagnose what we think we have so our doctor can treat us accordingly; of course we also know what the best medication for them to prescribe for us as well. I have a bad habit of doing a web search of any medication that I am given and wouldn’t you know I somehow manage to get all of them.
When I fractured my femur last year in a motorcycle accident I was constantly doing searches to find out how long the healing is going to take, what exercises I can do to speed up my recovery, even down to finding out that the screws were the culprit of the continued pain I was having and I able to convince my doctor to remove them with facts to back me up.
I would not say that the internet is always 100% accurate, but I thing we, as a society, have come to regard it as our bibles – a very present help in time of need. It is always accessible 24/7. If you can’t sleep, just get up and Google how to fall back to sleep. The question for us now is have we let the internet take the place of God? After all isn’t God available to us 24/7?
Spiritually many have turned to the search engines to seek answers that only God can give them through His word. Oh sure we can access bibles online and do all kinds of keyword searches to find a verse and there is really nothing wrong with that, but somehow searching scripture online isn’t the same as opening your bible to whatever piece of scripture is there and reading it and trying to see what God is telling us.
After all God inspired these men to physically write these things by hand for all to read. I like to carry my bible with me when I go away on vacation so I can go find a quiet place to read it, especially when I spend quiet time on the beach. Oh sure I could probably get some wireless connection somehow to Google my verses, but I can always shake the sand out of the bible; I can’t say the same for what could happen to my laptop.
So I will probably continue to find a bible verse search on the internet when God gives me part of one, but as soon as I find out where it is I will grab my bible and read it out of there. because that is where I find my comfort and strength. I also know that when the power or cable goes out, I can still continue reading, even if it is by candlelight, but after all isn’t that what the writers of the bible used anyways?

The weakest is probably #5 (conclusion). I feel that you went one sentence too long--the stronger conclusion would have been with taking comfort from your Bible, not with the candlelight reference.

Topic 4.5 This was spot on topic.
Creativity 3.8 I really like the Wizard of Oz take. I thought it was quite fresh.
Comphresion: 3.0 You had a clear message that many can relate to.
Craft 2.9 You had a few errors, thing instead of think. You were missing some commas, as well as switching tenses. There were also a few sentences that I had to reread a few times to understand it.
Start 3.9 I thought it was agreat start andyou piqued my curiosity.
End 3.3 The ending was nice and satisfying.
Flow 3.0 You did a nice job taking me throughout thestory and keeping my interest.
Publishable: 3.0 I think this could be the start. of agreat devotion.
