Thirty pieces of silver, the price for slaves,
was given to Judas, our Lord to betray.
Then Peter, in fear and in midst of great strife
denied he even knew, the Lord of his life.
It is easy to note such sin of others
and hard to admit when we do discover,
how many times and then in how many ways
have we, too, sold out, for our comfort to save.
Many labor for gold and all such treasures
while others live for all of this life’s pleasures.
The devil believes and about many, he’s right,
we all would sell out, if the price was just right.
In John’s revelation, we read of first love,
betrayed for things below in place of things above.
So when the devil comes with his gift in hand.
Will you sell out, or will you then take a stand?
