“Ring.”
She answers the phone with a stuffy nose. “Hello.”
“Annie, are you crying? What has happened?”
“Oh, Mom, Ben lost his job today. What will we do? You know how hard it is to find work these days. We have the mortgage to pay and little Freddie’s doctor bills from last year still haunting us. We were just about to get a little bit ahead, and now . . . .”
“Sweetheart, I am so sorry. The first thing we will do is to set a petition before God. Remember His promises to us? Philippians 4:19 says, ‘And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’ We will stand on that one. Let’s pray. ‘Father, we give Annie and Ben and their sweet little family to you. You promised that You would supply our every need and we ask for provision for them today. We praise You for all You have done for us in the past, and we will be watching for the answer to this dilemma. Amen.’ It’ll be all right now, honey, God has never failed us. Your dad and I have stood on that one for many years."
“Thanks, Mom, I really needed that just now. Thanks for reminding me where my trust belongs. I’m going to write that verse down and put it where I can see it all the time.”
In heaven there is a conversation between the God, Jesus, and an angel. “Jakon, I see that Annie is struggling with the loss of Ben’s job. Have you taken care of the petition that she and her mother prayed?”
“Yes, Lord, I have tried many times, but just as I have the opportunity to deliver Your message, I find her on the telephone telling her friends about her fears.”
“I have such plans for her. I placed a great talent in her when she was sent to the earth. It is now time for her to step into the expansion of it. She has made delicious pies in past years and called it a hobby. Her family and friends have enjoyed it, but it will be the solution to their need.”
“Yes, Lord, but fear of what might happen keeps her from hearing the instructions. The enemy keeps her mind busy with worry and she will not hear me.”
Jesus speaks. “If only Annie would understand that I paid the price. I made a way for her out of darkness and out of problems on the earth -- a way of escape – and I keep My promises.
“Jakon, deliver a dream to her in the night. Show her a portion of My plans for this venture. Tell her mother to call her in the morning with encouragement. We will find a way to get this solution to her.
“If My people, who are called by My name would humble themselves and pray and seek My face. If they would turn from fear and trust Me fully, I would deliver them.
“Look. Now she is not on the telephone. Go quickly. Put My promises before her eyes again. Encourage her to believe what I have said. She cannot imagine the plans I have for her and her family. Tell her to trust Me fully and completely. I never fail
