“Oh, there you are, Callie.”
“What is it Mr. Harper?”
“You got a letter from Chicago. Looks to me like it may be an answer to the one you sent off a while back.”
“Thank you Mr. Harper. I almost forgot that I sent it. It’s been months.”
“Well, it looks like someone at that address wrote you back. Here, open it. I sure hope it’s good news.”
“Me too. I need some good news and so do my little brothers. Say a prayer for me.”
“Sure will, honey. Just remember, God knows our needs before we do. You know, you always have a place here with Martha and me.”
“Yes sir, I know that. I’ll let you know what this letter has to say.”
Okay, here goes. I’m opening it Lord. Let this be the help I need.
10 Beacon Street
Chicago, Illinois

Dear Miss Callie Chambers,
It is with deep regret that I inform you of your grandfather’s passing. He died on July 4, 1901 after many weeks of suffering. For him, it truly was his Independence Day.
Mr. Collis Chambers was a man of strong faith and well regarded by all who knew him. And I would be first in line to acknowledge his virtues. I have been in his employment for fifteen years. During those years, Mr. Chambers spoke often of his daughter’s untimely death, and of the three children left orphaned somewhere in Oklahoma.
He financed several failed attempts to find you and your brothers. It broke his heart to think of the three of you as orphans. He felt great remorse for the severed relationship between he and his daughter, your mother, Rosalee.
I realize how disheartening this news is for you. After reading your letter, I understand the severity of your situation. I am afraid there is more bad news I must relate.
The severity of my situation indeed. How can there be more bad news?
Your grandfather married again a few years ago. The present Mrs. Chambers is a greedy woman. And since, that is the most positive thing I can say about her, I will hold my peace. Mr. Chambers, on the other hand, was generous to a fault. He shared with me and me only, his desire to leave one half of his significant estate to you and your brothers. Mrs. Chambers must have had a premonition because shortly before his death, she had Mr. Chambers’ Will changed, naming her his only beneficiary.
Now with all that said, I always try to end my letters on a positive note. Your grandfather had a premonition too. So, shortly after he married Mrs. Chambers, he moved a substantial portion of his wealth to another bank. That account is in your name, Miss Chambers.
What! Can this be true? Am I dreaming?
I know what you are thinking. Yes, it is true. The account is with the First City Bank in Oklahoma City. I believe that will be a short trip from where you live. I am notifying the bank to expect you. I humbly offer my assistance to you, if you need it. I failed to mention that I am no longer employed.
With Sincere Regards,
Mr. Franklin Holter
Oh, God thank you! Mr. Harper was right. You were way ahead of me. Thanks for giving my family the chance to be together.
“Mr. Harper!!!……….”

I was a bit confused by some of the changes of scene, and by the POV in a few places. And I'll admit that I don't understand the last line.
However, it's clear that events have turned in your MC's favor, and you gotta love a happy ending!
